The explanation encompasses i. events surrounding the actual cheese making process, including penning sheep, milking, and transport, ii. byproducts of the cheese making process such as zentyca, as well as iii. the full step-by-step explanation of cheese production. The lecture is accompanied by Mr. Pierwoła’s photography which provides a visual representation of each step in the process. The photographs are a selection from an exhibit that was produced in the Pieniny Mountains at Bacówka Jasia in 2023, to accurately document this traditional method as it is practiced presently in producing Mountain Cheese by the Baca shepherds of the Pieniny Mountains.

III. Tasting Contest for Official Oscypek Expert Certificate
Mr. Pierwola invites volunteers to the stage to participate in an Oscypek Tasting Competition. The contestants are provided three cheeses in a blind taste test: 1. Traditional Oscypek, 2. 100% Sheep’s Milk cheese, and 3. 100% Cow’s Milk cheese. Contestants taste the cheese and make their determination, and any who successfully identified the correct cheeses are celebrated with receipt of an Official Oscypek Expert Certificate.

IV. Questions and Answers, and Tasting open to entire audience
After the contest, Mr. Pierwoła participates in a Question and Answer Session. At a comfortable time, the audience is invited to taste the cheese themselves in an area where samples are properly identified.
This concludes the event.

UWAGA!

Oscypek style cheese with 100% sheep’s milk is very hard to come by, on account of the fact that it must be produced using the exact many day’s process for making Oscypek. This is a truly unique opportunity to compare, side-by-side, exactly what the specific flavor of Oscypek tastes like.
